A Man Injected "Magic" Mushrooms Into His Bloodstream and Nearly Died

This is crazy.

A Nebraska man tried to get rid of his opioid addiction by injecting himself with “magic” mushrooms.

Where he got the idea to INJECT mushroom tea instead of eating them, who knows.

The mushrooms, once injected into the man’s bloodstream, then started mushrooming — of course — in his bloodstream.

Tests revealed the man’s liver had been injured by the growing fungi and his kidneys weren’t functioning properly either. He was going into organ failure because of the mushrooms.

The man spent 22 days in the hospital recovering from the fungus growth in his blood supply. He was on a ventilator and attached to a machine filtered his blood from the toxins.

He was brought to the hospital in the first place after vomiting blood, diarrhea, nausea, jaundiced appearance, confusion and fatigue.

Got that fellas?

Injecting mushrooms is a no-no.

“Magic” mushrooms were legalized for recreational use in Oregon last year. The first U.S. cities to legalize shrooms were Denver, Colorado, and Oakland, California.

New research has found that treatment with psilocybin mushrooms can relieve major depression, and many philosophers have speculated on the role of mushrooms in the evolution of human consciousness.

Comedian Bill Hicks infamously discussed the idea.

But not even people from Denver inject the stuff!
