Shaq Challenged Donovan Mitchell to Win a Championship and It Was Hype
Ringz, Ernie.
Shaquille O’Neal went there with Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell, telling the young player he didn’t believe Mitchell could take Utah to the promised land.
Some NBA blog bois got upset at Shaq for calling out Mitchell, but a lot of men saw it for what it was — a challenge to step up and take his team to the next level.
Charles Barkley cracked back on Shaq, saying “Just for the record you couldn't play in today's game. They shoot threes, you wouldn't even be in the game today. Rudy Gobert would dominate YOU.”
Barkley is out of his mind that Shaq couldn’t play in today’s game.
Gobert, Mitchell’s All-Star teammate, also doesn’t shoot 3s. And nobody in the world thinks Shaq in his prime wouldn’t score 40 on Gobert any time he wanted.
Shaq recently called out Gobert too, saying "This should be an inspiration to all the little kids out there. You average 11 points in the NBA, you can get 200 million."
Mitchell, for what it’s worth, has been on fire lately.
But the playoffs are a different animal.
Shaq challenging Mitchell might end up pushing the young player further. Or the Jazz might not have what it takes no matter what!
Either way, Shaq definitely made things more interesting.
