Gators QB Kyle Trask Is Picking Up Heisman Heat, Can He Win It?
During their win against Georgia, Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask was getting shown on graphics with his name between legendary Gators QBs Tim Tebow and Rex Grossman.
Trask was busy putting his name in the record books with 474 passing yards and four touchdowns. The yards were the most by a Florida player against Georgia.
He is also setting records league wide, throwing 28 touchdowns through six games, the most in that time in SEC history.
The previous record of 26 touchdowns through six games was owned by former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who made his mark playing three non-SEC schools - Duke, New Mexico State, and Southern Mississippi. Trask threw all his TDs against SEC teams.
While some are now betting on Trask to win the Heisman, his main competition looks to be another Alabama QB - their current starter, Mac Jones. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields are in the mix too, but don’t be surprised if Trask becomes the 4th Gator QB to win the Heisman - after Tebow, Danny Wuerfel, and the legendary Steve Spurrier.
