Here are the best ways to avoid a hangover.

1. Niacin

Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, is the precursor to NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide). NAD is required to break down the fat, carbohydrate, protein, and alcohol you eat.

Because of its role in the breakdown of alcohol, many hangover supplements include it as one of their main ingredients.

Careful how much you take though! Over 50 mg can cause a skin flushing sensation and itching.

2. Baking soda

Baking Soda mixed with water, perhaps a half teaspoon in 4 to 6 ounces of water, can help settle your stomach.

The sodium bicarbonate helps to neutralize stomach acid.

3. Don’t drink more! Exercise and drink water.

Some people think drinking more in the morning helps ease the headache. WRONG!

It’s much better to drink water and exercise.

Water replaces your fluids, and exercise will get your blood moving. Drinking more will only further deplete your system. Ginger and lime are two helpful things to add to your water.
