Memphis Zoo Names Baby Giraffe "Ja Raffe" After Grizzlies Star Ja Morant

The Memphis zoo named Ja Raffe after Ja Morant following the Memphis Grizzlies’s star breakout rookie season.

Morant was rookie of the year and nearly took Memphis to the playoffs in his first season.

Ja Raffe has an 18- month-old sister named Ally. The Memphis zoo now has a total of seven giraffes, including Ja Raffe’s parents, Niklas and Angela Kate.

Is it just us, or is Niklas way too strong of a name for a giraffe?

Ja Raffe’s name is more on point for a giraffe, which makes sense, since he was named for a point guard.
