How Divorce and An Injury Derailed This A-List Movie Star
Brendan Fraser was on top of the world.
He starred in the hit action franchise The Mummy, he was rich and good looking…and then he seemed to disappear.
So what happened?
Fraser was STRAPPED in George of the Jungle, but apparently he did all his own stunts in the Mummy movies and it really messed up his back.
The injuries put him out of commission and had him racking up medical bills.
And then came the divorce.
Fraser married Afton Smith in 1993, and it was announced they were getting divorced in 2007.
Fraser's net worth was reportedly $45 million at one point, but after the divorce he was required to pay over $50,000 A MONTH in alimony and another $25,000 a month in child support.
Fraser also reportedly stopped getting roles after Philip Berk, a man who was once president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, sexually assaulted Fraser.
"His left hand reaches around, grabs my a** cheek, and one of his fingers touches me. ... And he starts moving it around,” said Fraser of the incident.
Now Fraser is finally enjoying a comeback, currently playing Cliff Steele on the streaming superhero show Doom Patrol.
