Did You Know? Hooters Air Was a Real Airline
How did this not catch on?
Once upon a time, Hooters started an airline.
For real.
In 2003, Hooters Air offered direct flights at a low cost, often a flat rate of $129, one-way. Seats were a generous 34-inch pitch and a business-class-style seating arrangement. The flight came with a meal. And the Hooters Girls played trivia games with the passengers.
America, how did we pass this up?
Hooters Air blamed its eventual closing in 2006 on fuel costs after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, but this is on all of us.
We could have chosen big seats and sexy Hooters girls, and we chose to save $12 flying on Spirit instead.
We messed up, America.
