Free Money? Most Americans Will Get Another $600 in Coronavirus Relief from Uncle Sam
Did you get $1200 when Congress gave out coronavirus relief in the middle of 2020?
If so, you’re about to get another $600.
Congress agreed to a $900 billion coronavirus relief package on Sunday, December 20.
That means a $600 direct stimulus payment to most Americans and a temporary $300 per week supplemental jobless benefit for people who lost their jobs.
The $900 billion deal will also give $82 billion for colleges and schools. Another $15 billion is going to live venues, independent movie theaters, and cultural institutions. U.S. airlines are getting $15 billion, and there are billions being given out to many other groups as well.
The first coronavirus stimulus deal was a total $1.8 trillion in aid, so this deal is half of the previous deal.
Here’s how you can spend that stimulus money - two Nintendo Switches. Or most of the cost of a Playstation 5. Or a round trip ticket to just about anywhere in the country and hotel fare for a couple nights.
