How Much Do Las Vegas Strippers Make?
In 2017, a 22-year-old Las Vegas stripper named Sydney told Thrillist she makes $300,000 a year. By all accounts, that made her one of the highest-earning strippers in Las Vegas.
In one surprisingly detailed analysis online, a researcher deduced that Las Vegas strippers earn anywhere from $60,000 to $300,000, while the average Vegas stripper earns $100,000 to $120,000 a year.
Google has a different answer.
Looks like not every stripper is even hitting that 60k mark.
As for the rare girl that makes the big money, what do they have to do to earn it?
Here’s what Sydney said:
“The VIP room is where I generate 80% of my money. You can do twenty lapdances on the main floor and make less. I’d rather know that I am getting $700 up front. And the money is easier. I once had a guy brush my hair for an hour and give me $700.”
She added, “You give him a couple of dances but it’s usually not a guy wanting 60 minutes of dances. Though I did have one guy buy two hours in a private room and want lap dances for the entire time. That was exhausting.”
These are the nice cases though. Sydney also talked about some of the creeps she meets.
“But not everybody’s like that. I’ve had foreign guys who don’t know how strip clubs work and they immediately pull down their pants. I’m like, ‘You better get your pants back on.’ And recently a guy was using his iPhone to video me while I was dancing on stage. I flagged my host and told him what was happening. He took the guy’s phone and deleted the recording. This guy got so mad. He said to me, ‘I would never record you. You ain’t shit.’ Then he ripped up 10 $1 bills and threw them at me. After that move he got thrown out of the club.”
Sydney dealt with no guys wearing silk shorts and no underwear trying to get a dance, nights where she cried on the job, and she even lost her husband.
Looks like making it as a stripper in Vegas isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
