Texas Police Officer Goes Nuts, Pepper Sprays Man for Recording Son's Traffic Stop
These cops definitely crossed the line.
After a dubious traffic stop, two officers from the Keller, Texas police department pepper sprayed Marco Puente directly in the eyes as they pinned him to the ground and handcuffed him.
The officer then left Puente begging from the back of a police car for nearly 20 minutes for someone to wipe the pepper spray from his eyes.
“It was a terrible feeling,” Puente said. “It was claustrophobic, I couldn’t breathe. I was hot, burning. In the police video you can hear me yelling for help, and saying, ‘Give me something to alleviate this.’”
Puente’s crime was supposedly blocking traffic, but anyone that watched the video sees the officers targeted him for recording the traffic stop and, as Eric Cartman would say, ‘disrepcting their authoritay.’
One officer involved in the incident was demoted from sergeant to officer because of his arrest of Puente.
Puente is suing the police department, and his lawyer James Roberts said, ““I could ask ‘why?’ to basically every choice they made.”
The Keller police chief apologized for his officers’ behavior two days after the incident and said they were in the wrong.
