Japanese Husband Hasn't Talked to Wife For 20 YEARS After She Upset Him

Talk about holding a grudge.

A Japanese man got upset with his wife 20 years ago, and he didn’t get a divorce.

He gave her the silent treatment.

For 20 years.

Meet Otou Katayama, and his wife Yumi.

Otou felt that her attention and care was honed entirely on their kids. Now he will only grunt or nod in response to her.

Their 18-year-old son Yoshiki wrote to a Japanese TV show and told them he had never heard a conversation between them.

The show set up the silent partners to meet where they had their first date.

Their kids watched to see whether their father would actually speak to their mother.

There were smiles at first, and then tears from the daughters.

And amazingly, he finally spoke.

“Somehow it's been a while since we talked,” he said. “You were so concerned about the kids. Yumi up until now, you have endured a lot of hardship. I want you to know I'm grateful for everything. I was kind of... jealous. I was sulking about it. There's no going back now I guess.”

Incredible that this man finally spoke, and hopefully he can rise up after this.
