Guy Fieri Raised $20 Million for Unemployed Restaurant Workers
In March, Guy Fieri started the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund to help restaurant workers that are struggling because of the coronavirus lockdowns.
Fieri is the host of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network, and also produced a documentary, Restaurant Hustle 2020, on the ongoing challenges the restaurant industry is facing.
The majority of the money Fieri raised came from his personal pleas to companies like Moët Hennessy USA, PepsiCo, and Uber Eats, whose sponsorship has collectively helped roughly 43,000 people receive $500 grants.
At the Daily Dropout, our chief Big Daws is also giving back, tipping delivery drivers $1,000.
There’s nothing better than helping other people, especially at a time like this.
