Trae Young Is Playing A Lot Worse Since Steve Nash Said His Game is "Not Basketball"
Steve Nash was Trae Young’s favorite player growing up.
So this has got to hurt.
Nash is now the coach of the Brooklyn Nets. When the Nets played Young’s Atlanta Hawks, Coach Nash told the refs that Young’s moves to draw fouls aren’t basketball.
Watch.
“That’s not basketball,” said Nash repeatedly.
Players are complaining that Young is moving backwards into them to draw a foul call.
Whether Young’s move is or isn’t basketball, it looks like his favorite player dissing his game has got into his head. Young is playing A LOT worse since Nash’s in-game comments.
Young’s points are way down, and he’s getting a lot less free throws too. Maybe the refs are giving him less calls after both Nash and Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau told refs during games that Young’s moves don’t deserve a foul call.
Thibs was even more pissed than Nash!
After the Hawks beat the Nets, Young’s teammate John Collins claimed “We are not a joke.”
The Hawks have lost four straight games since then.
Reminds us of the time Young told the Miami Heat crowd “It’s over” late in a game…and then the Heat went on a 22-0 run to win the game in overtime.
Yes, that really happened.
Young talked smack, and then his team gave up 22 straight points without scoring one.
Ouch.
Young has been compared a lot to Steph Curry, so he has a long way to go to back that kind of talk up!
