Life is shorter than you realize.

Dustin Diamond, famed for his portrayal of the character Screech on the hit 90s show Saved by the Bell, has passed away at the age of 44.

Diamond had stage 4 cancer.

Someone posted to Diamond’s social media, “In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”

Diamond’s father and his girlfriend were with him when he passed.

Diamond had two dying wishes, to talk with Tool bassist Justin Chancellor about music and to be able to visit Disney World and see ‘Star Wars Galaxy Edge.’ It is unknown if he was able to do either before his passing.

Dustin’s Saved by the Bell co-stars all shared their thoughts on Diamond’s passing.

"Dustin, you will be missed my man. The fragility of this life is something never to be taken for granted," said Diamond’s Saved by the Bell co-star Mario Lopez. "Prayers for your family will continue on."

Tiffany Amber Thiesen, who also co-starred with Diamond, said “I am deeply saddened by the news of my old co-star @realdustindiamond passing. Life is extremely fragile and it’s something we should never take for granted. God speed Dustin.”
