Netflix is Already Making a Movie About the GameStop Stock Pump by Reddit Users
GameStop stock went straight to the moon after Reddit users started pumping it.
And now it’s going to the big screen.
Netflix reportedly has a deal with Oscar-winning writer Mark Boal to make a movie out of the whole situation. Boal wrote The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty.
Noah Centineo is said to be starring in the film in a major role. Centineo is also about to star as the villain Atom Smasher in The Rock’s new superhero movie Black Adam.
Dave Portnoy wants Bradley Cooper to play him in the movie.
Author Ben Mezrich is also writing a book about the story, and MGM has already bought the rights. Mezrich’s book “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding Of Facebook, a Tale Of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal” was the foundation for the film The Social Network.
The movie (or movies) that come out of this are going to be highly-anticipated, that’s for certain.
The Daily Dropout told you when Reddit users first grabbed attention by starting a trading war through buying up GameStop stock.
When we first wrote about this story, GameStop was at $65, and the stock then soared over $300.
The popcorn is definitely ready on this one.
