There’s a BIG problem with porch pirates across America.
The Amazon delivery gets dropped off on the porch. No one is around. And some people take this opportunity to snatch whatever it is they might find.
This phenomenon is concerning for a few reasons.
First, obviously, is people are stealing.
But the bigger issues many don’t consider is WHO porch pirates are stealing from, and WHAT they are stealing.
Porch pirates aren’t stealing from Walmart or Target, who write off losses to insurance all day everyday. (Not that it makes the stealing okay, but let’s be real, nobody is getting hurt).
Porch pirates are stealing from individuals MUCH more likely to really miss whatever got taken.
And then let’s consider the WHAT.
Porch pirates have no idea what they are stealing.
They could be stealing an old lady’s medicine that just happened to be delivered by Amazon.
What are porch pirates going to do with bladderwrack pills?
Nothing.
And that’s the most concerning thing of all — porch pirates don’t even know if they will want what they’re taking, but they are definitely taking something important to someone else.
