GoFundMe Releases Money Raised for "Gorilla Glue Girl"
Gorilla Glue Girl is getting PAID.
After GoFundMe stated her account was under investigation, it was unclear whether TikToker Tessica Brown would get the $23,000 plus raised for her.
Now, she will be getting the entire windfall.
Brown claims she will be donating the entire amount as charity to local families, as she was given the procedure she needed to rid her hair of Gorilla Glue for free by Dr. Michael Obeng, director of MiKO Plastic Surgery. The treatment would normally cost more than $12,000.
Of course, Brown is under no obligation to actually give the money away once she receives it.
The girl best known to the world for putting Gorilla Glue in her hair will be on the honor system, and how she disposes of the money after receiving a free procedure from Dr. Obeng will definitely impact how people view each other. Are we worthy of charity? Gorilla Glue Girl is going to make an impact on how people see the answer to that question.
Brown’s GoFundMe and viral fame have inspired at least two copycats that went to the hospital with Gorilla Glue on their head so far.
Hopefully Brown does the right thing and really does give the money to charity and the world never hears about people using Gorilla Glue on their hair or faces ever again.
Gorilla Glue must have received about $20 million worth of free advertising from this whole affair now.
It must have surpassed Super Glue as far as the top name brand strong glue in people’s minds. They couldn’t have bought this kind of publicity, and if Tessica were to make any money from this saga, it should be from them.
Then again, Gorilla Glue sponsoring Tessica after this would only inspire money copycats, so….let the glue company enjoy the windfall on this one after all.
