RANKED: The 10 Greatest Tom Cruise Movies
America’s greatest actor?
Some think it’s Tom Cruise.
In honor of the controversy over whether Cruise is America’s greatest actor, we made a list of his best movies.
Note: this list can not be argued, it is indisputable scientific fact.
Here we go:
10. Tropic Thunder
Most people making this list would include The Firm or The Color of Money.
Nah. Tom Cruise may have only had a few minutes in Tropic Thunder, but they were some of the funniest scenes ever.
9. Top Gun
Most people would probably have Top Gun higher on their list too. Again, nah.
An American classic, but Cruise has better.
8. Collateral
Now this here was an underrated gem.
Cruise playing a villain was a change of pace for him, and he pulled it off with style.
7. A Few Good Men
“I want the truth!”
“You can’t handle the truth!”
Classic.
6. Oblivion
It’s not the Matrix, but this mind bending film is another underrated Cruise classic.
5. Edge of Tomorrow
It’s like Groundhog Day, but it’s an action movie.
That must have been the pitch for this one, and it worked!
It’s got a video game feel without being campy.
Fantastic film.
4. Cocktail
More Americana, this movie was made by Tom Cruise’s charm.
Seriously, replace Cruise with any other actor and this movie probably doesn’t make this list.
A good case right here for Cruise being America’s top actor.
3. The Last Samurai
2. Mission: Impossible
1. Minority Report
The top three Cruise movies, and they really can’t be argued.
Last Samurai was Cruise’s Braveheart. Mission: Impossible was so good they made approximately one thousand sequels. And Minority Report was such a scary accurate analogy for the then-future a.k.a. today’s present it is on the level of The Matrix, and its wrapped up in a fantastic mystery thriller.
That’s it! That’s the list. If you want to tell us how amazing we did with it, let us know on social media.
