Man Legally Changes His Gender To Woman So He Can Retire Five Years Earlier
Now this is creative.
Sergio Lazarovich is a tax worker in Argentina.
He’s sixty years old, and as a man, he has to wait five more years to retire and collect his pension.
Not anymore.
Meet Sergia.
Lazarovich legally changed his gender to woman so that he can retire immediately and still collect his pension.
The law in Argentina allow women in government to retire on a state pension at 60, but men have to wait until age 65.
Some of his relatives are furious, saying he does not truly identify as a woman, because the man has spoken out strongly against transsexuals in the past.
Lazarovich has an ex-wife whom he fathered two children with, so the “change” to being a woman is definitely a big difference.
“The motivations are mine and I do not have to explain anything to anyone,” said Lazarovich to a newspaper than questioned his motives.
His relative that remained anonymous laid out the case against the man.
“His conviction is that it is unfair that, because he is a man, he has to work five years more than a woman,” said the nameless relative. “He has been working on this for more than three years and was advised by lawyers and the first plan was to make a complaint to the State citing discrimination. But it was an option that could have taken many years and no one could guarantee that the court would rule in his favor.”
Argentinian law does not require evidence of hormone treatment or gender reassignment surgery to change your gender on identity documents.
Lazarovich has not yet filed for his pension. The Daily Dropout will keep you updated on what happens next.
Good luck Sergio!
