McDonald’s Is Spying On Employees to Find Out Who Is Fighting for $15 an Hour

Hold on to your special sauce.

McDonald’s is spying on workers to find out who is part of the “Fight for $15” movement.

Some workers want to be paid more than minimum wage, and McDonald’s has an intel team finding out who.

McDonald's says that the spying is designed to identify protests that "could put crew and customer safety at risk." A team of intelligence analysts in the McDonalds’ Chicago and London offices keep an eye on the movements of Fight for $15 labor organizers across the world, figure out which McDonald's workers are active in the movement, and who they are working with to organize strikes, protests, or attempt to form unions.

Wow.

Corporate espionage on workers!

You won’t see that in a commercial that says, “I’m lovin’ it!”

It’s hard to say someone at an entry level job “deserves” X amount of money, but the government does print billions for companies like Boeing, so in the end it comes down to people getting what they demand.

Demanding an increase in minimum wage might get people some more money…or it might get some workers replaced with robots.

In any event, Ronald McDonald should NOT be spying on people! Nobody wants a bug in their Happy Meal.
