Vanessa Bryant Slams 'Westworld' Actress for Slandering Kobe After His Death

Vanessa Bryant finally fired back at actress Evan Rachel Wood for calling her late husband Kobe Bryant a “rapist” the day he died.

Vanessa called the ‘Westworld’ actress’s comments “vile” and “disturbing.”

Just hours after Kobe’s death on Jan. 26, 2020, Wood tweeted, “What has happened is tragic. I am heartbroken for Kobe’s family. He was a sports hero. He was also a rapist. And all of these truths can exist simultaneously.”

Kobe was famously accused of sexual assault by a woman who ultimately didn’t press charges. The charges were dropped in 2004.

Bryant’s widow responded to Wood’s slander over a year later.

“Your false, insensitive, defamatory and slanderous tweet on 1/26/20 is vile and disturbing to say the least,” wrote Vanessa Bryant. “Behavior like this is part of the reason why innocent black men go to jail for crimes they didn’t commit. An accusation doesn’t make someone guilty.”

Bryant finished with the words, “YOU DON’T KNOW THE FACTS OF THE CASE.”

Evan Rachel Wood was definitely out of line here. Maybe she has issues dealing with the fact that someone named her Evan. She also recently claimed that her ex-fiance Marilyn Manson abused her, so maybe there’s something going on there.

In any event, don’t come for the mamba! Kyrie Irving thinks Kobe should be the NBA’s new logo. It’s almost worth supporting a switch just to dunk on everyone that slandered his name.
