Biggest Actors Who Have Won the Most “Razzie” Awards
The first Golden Raspberry Awards ceremony took place on March 31st, 1981, in the living room of the publicist John J. B. Wilson. He wore a tacky suit and stood at a podium made of cardboard with a ball attached to the end of a broomstick as “the microphone.” It started as a potluck dinner the night of the Academy Awards where the guests would watch and eat. In 1981, he had an impromptu award ceremony after the Ocars where everyone voted on the worst movie of the year. The following the anti-award ceremony made some buzz in the local newspaper. A year later John held the ceremony again and called it the Golden Raspberries Awards (or “Razzies’ for short) taking inspiration form the phrase “blowing a raspberry” which essentially means sucking. The following year the ceremony doubled in numbers. By its fourth year over a hundred people showed up and CNN broadcasted it.
Over the years many actors (often good actors but just in bad films) haven taken a Razzie home. Well, not literally the actors rarely show up, though some have! I mean it’s an award ceremony for how much people sucked that year in movies. If you have a sense of humor and don’t take yourself too seriously I bet many actors have laughed at getting nominated.
